Why does this written word always seem to carry more authority than that from the mouth? What are the ramifications of the internet in creating judgments as to the validity of statements.

The reason why people rely

The reason why people rely so much on Authority is largely due to
conditioning. I mean the first person you most likely see is a doctor!

And from then onwards we are conditioned with statements like -
children should be seen and not heard, or if you're sick - we must
take you to a Doctor. We have teachers parents churches
the media all telling us who should be and what we should do.
Not only that we have fast food companies like McDonalds
and Kraft preying on us and poisoning us with their high frucose
corn syrup, battery fed hens, MSG, aspartame and rBGH (a genetically
engineered copy of a naturally occurring hormone produced by cows
and then injected into them to increase production of milk)

We grow up with all this BS and then somehow are expected
to be self empowered?
