Well, this is a little too open format for me and I don't know much about this web site but let's just say I am a Atheist purist, that is I don't use my atheist stand as some kind of religious stand like a lot of so called Atheist do.
I don't believe in a creator plain and simple, life developed by happenstance and evolved as needed. I hold my self importance any higher than any other life form, truth is I think the world was a much better place with out man and the more advanced we get the worse the world gets. Don't get me wrong, I love technology, I love philosophy, I am amazed and impressed by what mankind has done and created. My feeling is that there are just too many people and too many excused for really bad behavior.
I hate the term inhumane because those things that are called inhumane are uniquely human. We are for the most part a horribly destructive and wasteful species and we use every imaginable excuse for the horrible things we do though 95% of those excuses boil down to money.
Global warming-it's already too late, the debate started more than 30 years ago. Did we cause it? No, do we contribute to it? no more than adding sugar to something contributes to it's sweetness. It's a ridiculous argument but I suppose if you can believe that a "God" made man out of clay then you can convince yourself of anything.
Morals, I still can't believe that there are people who will argue that if you don't believe in "God" you can't have morals, just about all the most imoral people I know of profess to have a deep belief in "God".
Jesus, I believe he existed, that's it.
I believe there are thing we can not understand and I can understand why that would cause a belief in a "God" but arguing that evolution does not exist is or that man was created from clay is some kind of mental retardation. I can not conceive how anyone with a rational mind could take the bible or any other religious writing as wholly factual. I believe in evolution but I don't buy every theory that is thrown into the ring. Evolution has been going on for millions if not billions of years, religion has only been going on since man became self aware.
OK, I'm stepping off my soap box and now I am going to show that I am a relatively normal person with a family.
